According to Jackson Police Department, officers are investigating an aggravated assault that occurred on Bellwood near Northside Drive on Monday.
Police say a victim was shot at that scene after allegedly starting what appears to be a gunfight. The victim, who has not been named, was transported to the hospital for his injuries. He will be charged with aggravated assault, police said, and his alleged actions contributed to his injuries.
