A man who was homeless at the time, was arrested and charged with simple assault on a D’lberville police officer.

On April 13, Chief Shannon Nobles said that Justin Michael Vuyovich was arrested on Sangani Boulevard.

Officers were called to the 3545 Sangani Boulevard in reference to a disturbance of a business/trespassing.

The complainant gave a description of the suspect and officers soon found Justin Vuyovich near by.

They tried to take him into custody but he resisted. He then allegedly kicked the officer several times in the chest.

Finally, with the help of several other officers, Vuyovick was taken into custody. While being booked into the jail, he was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.

He also had outstanding warrants in the city.
