Sheriff Jones with the Hinds County Sheriff’s Department said that Deputy Alvin Wells passed away from natural causes last night.
Deputy Wells was well-loved and served in law enforcement for 37 years throughout Central Mississippi.
Sheriff Jones said that Deputy Wells touched the lives of many.
“I extend my deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Hinds County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Alvin Wells, who passed away last night due to natural causes. His 37 year career as a law enforcement veteran in central Mississippi reflects a lifetime of selfless service and dedication to the community. Deputy Wells touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on those he served. May God provide comfort and strength to his loved ones during this difficult time.”
