At approximately 1:30 a.m. on January 31, Capitol Police saw a red Chevrolet Camaro traveling at an excessive rate of speed and disregarding traffic devices near Pearl Street and Gallatin Street.
Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop and the driver failed to yield, leading officers on a pursuit into Pearl, Mississippi.
Pearl Police assisted as the fleeing vehicle left the road near Childre Road and struck a tree.
The driver was identified as Zandarius Brooks.
He was arrested without incident and charged with felony fleeing and eluding law enforcement.
