On May 15, the Gulfport Police Department arrested 17-year-old Lawrence Corley IV and charged him with two counts of Capital Murder.
On May 13, at approximately 8:46 p.m., officers of the Gulfport Police Department responded to the 800 block of 27th Street about a shooting.
As officers arrived on the scene, they located Temi Lawal lying on the ground, deceased from an apparent gunshot wound, and learned another shooting victim, identified as Lorenzo Stennis, was transported to a local area hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. Stennis later succumbed to his wounds.
Through the course of the investigation, it was determined the armed robbery was a planned event by Corley, Lawal, and Stennis.
Due to Corley’s knowledge and involvement in the armed robbery, which ended with the deaths of both Lawal and Stennis, Corley was charged with two counts of Capital Murder.
Corley was processed and transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center to be held on his $2,000,000 bond, set by Judge Patano.
