A banquet worker at Table 100 was shocked when a ministry that meets there for lunch frequently paid her rent for a year.
The ministry called Daughters of Destiny Ministry, was setting up for their 100 Women at the table Weekend getaway, when the server, Angie mentioned that God had blessed her with a new apartment and said she had been homeless for three years.
The founder of the ministry, Dr. Kathy Amos, decided to run to Walmart and buy a clothes hamper and fill it with household items for her new home.
She mentioned Angie’s situation to the women who attended the event that weekend and they wanted to help. They raised hundreds of dollars for Angie.
A pastor at the event, Pastor Kellie Agueze said she would pay her rent for the next 6 months and another woman at the event, Makeba Chanay White offered to pay another 6 months of her rent.
When Angie received these gifts, she began to cry and said,
“I stopped going to church because the church turned me away when I was homeless. But you all have shown me that this is the church!”
