ESPN College Football names Oxford ‘Number One College Town’

Mary Apel

Ole Miss posted this on their Facebook page to celebrate the recent ESPN announcement.

Ole Miss is ranked number one in one football poll already this season, and it’s not surprising a whole lot of Rebel faithful.

You know the old saying, “We may lose the game but we’ve never lost a party?” That still applies, folks.

ESPN College Football recently tweeted their rankings of all things college football, and named Oxford the “Number One College Town.”

Experts at ESPN praised the Grove’s game day atmosphere, including the fans and favorite spots around town. Oxford was voted as first choice above Athens, GA; Madison, WI; and Ann Arbor, MI, respectively.

Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin also shared the announcement from the Ole Miss Spirit. (Editor’s Note: The article does astutely note that Ole Miss did not place in the best mascots list, probably because the Land Shark. Need we say more?)

Ole Miss plays their first home game on Sept. 6 vs. the Louisville Cardinals, with kickoff set for 7 p.m.

Hotty Toddy!
