Tuesday at approximately 3:00 pm two Jackson residents were driving in their vehicle on Northside Dr near Sunset Drive when a dark-colored vehicle pulled up beside them and the occupant/s of that vehicle began firing shots at the victim’s vehicle.

The driver was hit multiple times.

The victims pulled over at Northside Drive near an auto body shop where the injured driver got onto the back seat of his Ford F150 and the passenger started driving while calling the police.

AMR transported the injured victim to UMMC and he was rushed into surgery and listed in critical condition.

The passenger who was not injured, was transported to Police Headquarters where he advised Detectives that he didn’t know the reason why they were being shot at.

This investigation is ongoing.
