The Desoto County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a convicted sex offender who is on the loose.

Officials say James Long has cut off his ankle monitor and his location is unknown. Long is approximately 6’1” and 175 lbs and was last seen in a silver or gray passenger car with a white female.

Long, 46, was convicted of statutory rape in Shelby County, Tennessee in 2003. His last known address is in Hernando.
