Details are scarce in the case of an officer-involved shooting in DeSoto County Wednesday.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation put out a release Wednesday afternoon that said they are investigating the shooting, which involved a Desoto County Sheriff’s Department. It happened near Mississippi Highway 302 and Goodman Road, officials said.
The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department told the DeSoto County News Thursday morning that the incident took place about 10:30 p.m. when a deputy reportedly shot an armed suspect during a traffic stop in Horn Lake.
MBI says they are currently assessing this critical incident and gathering evidence. Upon completing the investigation, the findings will be shared with the Attorney General’s Office.
