On November 5, Tupelo police were notified of a possible Statutory Rape.
After further investigation, on November 6, 29-year-old Kendal S. Ackinson (of Tupelo) was taken into custody by the Tupelo Police Department and charged with Statutory Rape.
On November 7, Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Weir ordered Ackinson to be held without bond.
At the time of his arrest, Ackinson was found to be a convicted Sex Offender.
More charges could be pending by other jurisdictions.
These charges will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury.
