As Memorial Day approaches, the city of Ridgeland prepares to pay tribute to the brave men and women who have served their country with honor and sacrifice. On May 23rd, a ceremony will take place outside Ridgeland City Hall at the Veterans Memory Park.
The event, open to the public, will commence at 10:00 a.m. with keynote remarks from General Harold Cross, alongside reflections from Mayor Gene McGee and Colonel John McCollum. Ridgeland High School’s AFJROTC Color Guard will present, while Chaplain David Morris will offer an Invocation and Benediction. A musical tribute by Joanne Bell will add to the atmosphere of reverence.
The event will take place at Veterans Memory Park. The park is full of benches, plaques, and a central Walk of Heroes. The central point, a seven-foot bell tower, symbolizes the legacy of those who have served.
