On July 13, at 1:47 a.m., the Brandon Police Department received a notification of a burglar alarm sounding at Subway on East Government Street.
Officers discovered that a brick had been thrown through the front glass window, the cash register was taken, and the suspect exited through the back door, leaving footprints in the mud and change on the ground near the Brandon United Methodist Church.
Officers were able to identify the suspect as Barry Frances Wicks after reviewing video evidence inside the store and outside video footage from Ramey’s, located next door.
Officers recovered the cash register from kudzu covered area behind the store.
An arrest warrant was issued, and Wicks was arrested without incident. He is being charged with Business Burglary and being held on a $75,000 bond at the Rankin County Jail.
