A Morton police officer’s home was near the target of a drive-by shooting that left one person injured Monday afternoon.

One person has been taken into custody by Morton Police Department, according to Scott County Sheriff Mike Lee. The victim was shot in the chest, officials said, and though he appears to be okay, he is being flown to the University of Mississippi Medical Center from Scott Regional in Morton.

Lee said his department responded as it was initially believed that the shooting was at the officer’s home.
