JACKSON – A 31-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a July drive-by shooting that killed a 19-year-old woman inside a Jackson home, according to the Jackson Police Department.
Police said officers responded around 1:55 a.m. July 15 to a residence in the 200 block of South Prentiss Street after receiving a report of a drive-by shooting.
When officers arrived, they learned that a 19-year-old woman had been fatally shot while inside the home with family members, including several children.
Police said an arrest warrant was issued Aug. 4 for 31-year-old Issac Demarea Sanders in connection with the case.
Sanders was arrested Aug. 18 and charged with murder and shooting into an occupied dwelling.
He later appeared before a municipal court judge, who set a combined bond of $3 million.
