Shelter officials said the facility is over capacity again and currently has no free kennels.

To help more pets find homes, the shelter is holding a half-off adoption event Friday and Saturday, March 27 and 28.

During the event, dog adoption fees will be reduced to $65. The fee includes spay or neuter services, a rabies vaccine, core vaccinations and a microchip, according to the shelter. Adopters also will receive a free collar and leash.

Shelter officials said the first eight adopters who take part in the special will also receive a gift card from The Cleaners by Pizza Shack.

The shelter is located at 710 Marquette Road in Brandon.

Officials encouraged people who cannot adopt to share the shelter’s message to help more animals find homes.
