The Jackson Fire Department and Jackson Police Department are investigating after a fire broke out at the abandoned Hotel O on Friday morning.
WLBT reports that crews responded to the scene on the 4600 block of I-55 North, where the fire was extinguished by approximately 6:30 a.m.
Though the flames were out, fire crews remained on site to monitor the situation.
WLBT reported that earlier this month, the City of Jackson received three bids to demolish the deteriorating property, which has been vacant for some time.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
