MCCOMB – A McComb man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison after being convicted of producing and possessing child sexual abuse material and sexually battering a minor, Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch announced.
James Cory Matthew Hill was sentenced Sept. 15 by Pike County Circuit Judge David H. Strong Jr.
Hill received a 40-year sentence for sexual battery, with 25 years to serve; a 40-year sentence for producing child sexual abuse material, with 20 years to serve; and a 40-year sentence for possessing child sexual abuse material, with 10 years to serve.
The sentences will run concurrently, meaning Hill’s longest period of incarceration is 25 years. According to the attorney general’s office, he must serve his sentence day for day without the possibility of parole.
Fitch said the investigation, conducted by her office with assistance from the FBI and Pike County Sheriff’s Department, uncovered more than 3,500 images of child sexual abuse material.
Hill was also ordered to pay $1,000 each to the Mississippi Children’s Trust Fund, Mississippi Crime Victim Compensation Fund and Victims of Human Trafficking and Commercial Sexual Exploitation Fund.
He will be required to register as a sex offender upon release.
