Mary Apel

A Tupelo court has set bond in a recent Aggravated Assault case.

On January 14, Tupelo Police were called to the area of South Gloster and Carnation Street regarding a stabbing.

An adult male victim was transported to NMMC and treated for lacerations to his neck. While serious, the wounds were not thought to be life threatening.

The suspect was described as an adult female who had fled prior to officer’s arrival. A Tupelo Police K-9 was used to track suspect, Jennifer Riggs, 48, from Nettleton.

Riggs had run into a wooded area near the crime scene where she was arrested without incident. The victim and Riggs were described as acquaintances.

On January 16, Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Allen set bond at $100,000 for the Aggravated Assault charge.
