7 shot, 1 fatally, as a result of Yazoo County dice game

One man is dead and six others injured after a shooting connected to a dice game in Yazoo County, according to WLBT.

Yazoo County Sheriff Jacob Sheriff says the incident occurred at a bonfire after a dice game at The Wells Ranch shortly after midnight Sunday.

Christopher Turnage, 27, of the Vaughn community, died in the hospital as a result of the shooting.

WLBT reports that the following others were shot as well:

  • Amanda Gatlin, 41, of Hinds County, was shot in the head and is in critical condition.
  • Cornelius Scott, 35, of Mound Bayou, was shot in the left side and is in stable condition.
  • Billy Barton, 25, of the Vaughn community, was shot in the left shoulder and is in stable condition.
  • Latasha Gordon, 38, of the Vaughn community, was shot in the left hand and is in stable condition.
  • Jabarious Smith, 23, of Humphreys County, was shot in the left arm and is in stable condition.
  • Latasha Washington, 44, of Hinds County, was shot in the left hip and is in stable condition.
