Man accused of kidnapping ex-girlfriend believed to be in woods near Duck Hill

Police say Charles Moore kidnapped his ex-girlfriend Shanetta Andrews and is still on the run

Authorities in Holmes County have released the name of a woman allegedly kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend on Wednesday.

Sheriff Willie March said in a Facebook post Thursday that police are still trying to locate Charles Moore, 45, after they say he kidnapped his ex-girlfriend Shanetta Andrews, 39, from her home. Police say it happened just after 7 a.m. Wednesday.

According to the Facebook post, Andrews was taken by Moore, who has a history of domestic violence, at gunpoint. He is believed to be driving a white SUV. Authorities are concerned about Andrews’ welfare.

Moore was seen near Duck Hill last night, but he was not caught. Police said he dumped his SUV at around 7 p.m. Wednesday night near the Duck Hill exit.

Montgomery County Sheriff Jeff Tompkins told WONA FM 95.1 – Winona that Moore has not been seen in Montgomery County, but officers are keeping a watchful eye out. Both he and Sheriff Clint Walker has asked that the public be alert
