An 8-year-old passenger was killed in a multiple-vehicle crash on I-20 Sunday.
The crash happened in Lauderdale County just after 3 p.m. when a 2015 Lexus R35 going westbound on I-20 collided with the rear of a 2021 Kenworth T680. Meiko Thompson, 42, of Kenner, Louisiana, was driving the Lexus and was injured, and an 8-year-old child was pronounced dead on the scene.
Timothy Mobley, 24, the driver of the Kenworth, was not injured.
The accident is still under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
