Oxford police arrest 4 in Tuesday night shootout that injured 1

One person was injured in a disturbance in which around 25 shots were fired in Oxford Tuesday night.

According to a release from the Oxford Police Department, around 8:15 p.m. Tuesday officers responded to multiple reports of gunshots in the 200 block of Pegues Road.

One person had been injured, though his injuries were not life-threatening.

Police have taken Deshawn Lewis, 26, Aaron Pomerlee, 25, Shawntez Draper, 30, and Demond Campbell, all of Oxford, into custody in connection with the incident. Lewis was charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. Pomerlee was charged with accessory after the fact. Draper was charged with 3 counts of aggravated assault and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. Campbell is charged with 3 counts of aggravated assault and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon

We currently have warrants issued for Deniero Buchanan for 4 counts of aggravated assault.

Bonds will be set at a later date. This is still an ongoing investigation, other details may be added later.
