At approximately 9:55 p.m., on Sunday, the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a fatal crash on I-55 in Copiah County near mile marker 60 involving a pedestrian.
A 2009 Toyota Tacoma driven by Alexandria E. Evitts, 30, of Fort Lauderdale, FL, was traveling northbound when it collided with Robert S. Wiltshire, 38, of Wesson, MS, who was walking northbound on the highway.
Mr. Wiltshire was pronounced dead at the scene by the Copiah County Coroner.
This crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
