The Tupelo Bomb Squad has rendered the area safe. Details on how that was accomplished were not immediately available.
ORIGINAL STORY:
Oxford Police Department is asking the public to avoid traveling in the area directly in front of their headquarters.
According to OPD’s Facebook page, a citizen brought in what they thought was an inert grenade.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives was called, and determined that the grenade is possibly live.
Tupelo Police Department’s Bomb Squad has been called to the scene.
