When you have a good heart, good things happen. And Demarcus Peeples has a good heart.

For as long as he can remember, he has felt the call to be a protector. It started with his career in law enforcement — since he was first sworn in in 2012, he has worked for Grenada Police Department and Vaiden Police Department, and he was the part-time Chief at West Police Department for 2 1/2 years.

But even that wasn’t enough. He wanted to do more.

Now, Peeples owns a business that allows him to serve and protect even more. Peeples Security, Inc., is a security guard service that provides armed or unarmed guards whenever and wherever they’re needed.

Peeples started Peeples Security, Inc. in 2016 while working for the Grenada Police Department.

“I started this company because it’s another form of law enforcement,” he said.

He got his first contract from Bingo World in Granada and worked for them for almost three years. Since then, Peeples Security has grown into a multi-state service and is licensed to provide security in Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana.

Peeples’ goal is to make people feel safe.

“I want to be a protector. It makes me feel good to know that I can help someone,” he said. “I don’t have a high price range because I just want to help people.”

Because of his determination, Peeples has almost no limits to his security services.

For example, the range of events he has secured includes birthday parties, concerts, weddings, ATV tracks, apartment complexes, lawyers’ offices, proms, school events, parking lot security for restaurants, football games, baseball games, and everything between. He even provides home security if you do not feel safe in your home or are leaving out of town for the week. He’s also is able to provide full-service transportation with a full-size luxury vehicle and an executive protection officer.

He knew immediately when asked which has been his favorite event so far.

“One of my favorites was when I was able to provide free security for a ‘Kids Prom’ In Fayette, MS,” he said. “It was really sweet, and I enjoyed being able to provide that service.”

Peeples Security is a team effort and includes working with multiple departments in the states it services. Peeples will sub-contract law enforcement, but can provide firearm, security, and physical training for those who might not have security training.

In 2016, Peeples did an interview with The Winona Times where he expressed his dream of expanding outside of Mississippi. As of today, that dream has come true. Now, his next goal is to expand into Georgia/Atlanta, Tennessee, and Arkansas.

Peeples Security next big venture is providing security this Fall at Mississippi State’s first football game of the season. With everyone excited to get back into a stadium, vigilant and thorough security will be necessary.

Peeples is constantly inspired by his three children, and by his faith in God.

“I listen to God, and I follow from there. Whatever his desire is, is my desire as well,” he said. “Because without him we are nothing. Keep God first, keep trusting.”
