Jimmie "Jay" Lee's father addresses the public, asking for help locating his son.

Jimmie Lee, AKA Jay Lee, has been missing since early Friday morning.

The father of missing Ole Miss student Jimmie “Jay” Lee spoke in a video released by Oxford Police Department Wednesday afternoon, and asked that anyone with information please come forward.

Jimmie Lee, public policy major, had been working with the Lafayette County Child Protection Services on a drive to bring in formula for children who didn’t have any at the time of his disappearance, his father said. He added that he is hardworking, and cares about people.

Friends from the Jackson area, where Lee grew up and went to Murrah High School, say that he worked at TGIFriday’s in Pearl through high school, leaving only to go to Ole Miss.

“I can remember my son coming to this college being willing to face the unknown without a problem,” said Lee’s father. “I’m so proud of him for that. I want everyone to know that whether you were black, white, green, polka-dotted, it didn’t matter who you are, he was there to help if he saw the need.”

If you have any information on Jimmie “Jay” Lee’s whereabouts, please call the Oxford Police Department at (662) 232-2400 or the University of Mississippi Police Department at (662) 915-7234.
