Many Fourth of July firework shows light up the sky this weekend.

The Empire fireworks in Richland are often overlooked, but has been loved by the community for decades.

Katelyn Jackson of Madison and her family parked on the side of Highway 49 to enjoy the display.

“We come here every year to enjoy this experience. It is awesome!” said Jackson.

The show has been organized by Empire Truck Sales and Stribling Equipment every Independence Day. It continues to grow every year since it began as a small employee barbeque.

“The Community has viewed this just as much as our employees. Highway 49 is just bumper to bumper traffic up and down the side of the road. Other vendors and companies’ employees sit in parking lots,” Stribling General Service Manager Joel Thomas said. “We hear people say they can see it as far as Sonic in Richland. The event has grown over the years into what I would call a major event.”
