A man is dead after a Saturday night shooting in Hinds County.

The Hinds County Sheriff’s Office says the the fatal shooting that occurred at 9:30 p.m. at 3129 Wynndale Rd. in Terry.

Brandon Nix, 27, was allegedly shot twice by Michael Harvey, Jr., 24, following a fight, the Sheriff’s office said in a release.

Harvey was arrested on scene and charged with murder. Both the victim and suspect knew each other and a witness at the scene was detained and interviewed. A handgun was also recovered from the scene.

This investigation is ongoing.
