Another festival shooting, this one in North Mississippi.
The Batesville Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Saturday night at the end of Springfest. Police say the suspect and victim know each other and were not from Panola County.
The victim was transported to Oxford where they are reportedly in critical condition for a gunshot wound. BPD says the investigation continues into the shooting, and that more information could be released today.
Country music singer and BAtesville native Jameson Rodgers was the headliner for the event. Batesville Police posted an apology on facebook, saying, “The incident that happened had nothing to do with all of the family, friends, and fans that came to support your homecoming and see your show. Thank you so much for the great performance you gave to your hometown.”
