A Marks man was arrested Sunday after Batesville police said he led officers on a chase.
Derrick Stevenson was allegedly running from police when he lost control and wrecked his vehicle, then attempting to flee on foot. He was quickly and safely caught, officials said.
Stevenson was found to be in possession of what appeared to be 3.5 ounces of crystal meth; 35 dosage units of ecstasy, or MDMA; 100 dosage units of pressed fentanyl pills; and one half pound of marijuana. He was also in possession of two guns, according to Batesville PD.
Stevenson was given medical attention for minor injuries from the wreck and later transported to the Panola County Jail for multiple traffic offenses, two counts of trafficking a controlled substance, two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, firearm enhancement, resisting arrest, and felony fleeing.
