UPDATE: Escapee back in custody // Manhunt underway for Canton man who escaped from Ridgeland PD

Update 3/28:

A man who escaped from police custody last week surrendered Monday at the Madison County Sheriff’s Department.

Ridgeland police arrested Anterrion Robinson, 26, of Canton, on Thursday. When Robinson went in to be interviewed by a detective, he fled from the building.

ORIGINAL POST 3/25:

A manhunt is underway after a man escaped from the Ridgeland Police Department around 2:15 p.m. on Thursday.

Police had taken custody of Anterrion Terynn Robinson, 26, from Canton on outstanding arrest warrants for Aggravated Assault, according to a press release from RPD.

Robinson was escorted to the Criminal Investigations Division to be interviewed by a detective when he fled from the building while in custody. Robinson left the area and efforts to immediately locate him were unsuccessful.

Investigators believe Robinson was able to contact someone to pick him up and flee the area. Subsequent investigation indicated Robinson was seen in the City of Canton late in the day on Thursday, March 24th.


Robinson is wanted by the Ridgeland Police Department for charges to include Aggravated Assault, Discharge of a Firearm within City Limits and Felony Escape.
