1 Dead, 12 Injured In Mass Shooting At Club In Clay County

According to WTVA one person was killed and 12 were injured in a mass shooting at a club in Clay County.

The shooting happened after midnight on Sunday, March 2 at “Club Oasis” on Hwy 45.

West Point police and Clay County deputies responded to the shooting.

WTVA reports that West Point Police Chief Avery Cook confirmed the person who died was a 20-year-old female from Columbus.

According to Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott, many of those who were shot were grazed and are expected to live.

No suspect has been arrested at this time. WTVA reports that security is believed to have chased a suspect into the woods where they got away.

A gun was recovered at the scene.

WTVA said that according to the sheriff, most of the victims were innocent bystanders to the attack.
