MEMA reported one death from the storms today across Mississippi in Yazoo County.
A 65-year-old woman named Brenda Mullen was driving on Wildwood Road east of Bennett Road when a large rotted tree branch fell on her SUV, according to a report from WLBT.
Brenda Mullen was on her way home when the accident happened. She was literally several hundred feet from her destination, according to Sheriff Chief Deputy Terry Gain.
WLBT said that a county road worker found the woman while they were clearing trees and assessing damage. They called 911 to report it Friday morning.
