Hattiesburg Police were called to the 1000 block of Country Club Road on Tuesday, June 4, around 9:30 p.m., following reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found that an 18-year-old female, identified as Asia Dabney, from Hattiesburg, had allegedly approached a male sitting in his vehicle. She reportedly brandished a handgun and demanded he get out of the vehicle.

The male victim managed to disarm Dabney during the altercation, but not before the gun discharged, injuring both of them.

Dabney was shot in the leg and the victim was grazed on his hand.

Both were taken to the hospital for treatment.

After receiving medical care, Dabney was arrested and now faces charges of armed carjacking and Possession of a Stolen Firearm.

Dabney was booked into the Forrest County Jail as the investigation into the incident continues.
