WLBT reports that the mother of a toddler who died on September 29th is now being charged in the death.
24-year-old Crystal Loftin has been charged with Child Neglect and Hindering Prosecution involving her son’s death.
The 14-month old, Kahari Loftin was taken to UMMC on September 29th when he was having issues breathing. He died later that evening at the hospital.
Jackson police say that child abuse was a main factor in the toddler’s death.
The boyfriend of the toddler’s mom, Trevonte Leshawn Willis, was arrested and charged with capital murder.
