According to WLBT, a University of Mississippi Medical Center employee was assaulted and carjacked Tuesday evening.
UMMC police say the nurse was leaving work when and when she walked to her car, a man demanded a ride from the victim.
Police told WLBT that no weapon was used in the incident, but the nurse was physically assaulted.
The suspect stole the vehicle and the victim called 911.
UMMC stated that police presence will now be increased across all parking lots at the facility.
Police with UMMC are investigating the incident and reviewing surveillance.
