An Amber Alert was issued for the two missing children around 12:00 p.m. in the Tangipahoa Parish area of Louisiana.

Thursday evening:

The Byram Police Department has technology that helped the license plate of the deceased woman’s car pinged in the metro area.

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office was notified and came to the metro area.

Thursday afternoon, a caller reported a suspicious person in South Jackson.

Jackson Police were called to assist U.S. Marshals at 3950 Boosier looking for a Callihan. The Chrysler was found.

After a short pursuit, they made contact with Daniel Callihan and he was taken into custody.

Upon a search of the area by JPD, U.S. Marshals and a Jackson police officer located the body of 3-year-old Erin Brunett.

Six-year-old Erin Brunett was found alive and was taken to the hospital to receive treatment.

Signs of Human Trafficking On Property:

Chief Wade said the scene was “very traumatic and very tragic”. He said it was traumatizing to see the child’s body in the woods behind the house.

Jackson FBI, MBI, U.S. Marshals, Hinds County SO, Rankin County SO, and Tangipahoa Parish SO all assisted at the scene.

Chief Wade said it appears the location where the girls were found is used for human trafficking. Small cages were found at the address.

“What it looks like, this may be a location where there has been some human trafficking done. We see cages – small animal cages. [It’s] very, very disturbing to me as a police chief, and as a father, to witness and see what I just saw,” he said. “We ask for your prayers and support, and anybody who has any information about what happened here today, please contact the Jackson Police Department, the Byram Police Department the U.S. Marshals, or [the] Jackson FBI.”

He said they are going to inspect this crime scene “with a scalpel, not a sledgehammer”. He said this area was used to traffic children and he wants to be sure everyone involved is prosecuted for this heinous act.

Chief Wade said that Callahan is also wanted for murder in Tangipahoa Parish Louisiana.

An Amber Alert was issued for two children by the Louisiana State Police this morning after their mother was found dead at 56044 N. Cooper Road in Loranger, Louisiana early Thursday morning.

According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, 35-year-old Callie Brunett was missing for over 24 hours before she was found murdered in her home. The sheriff’s department said her murder was brutal and there was blood everywhere.

Her two children, 6-year-old Jalie and 3-year-old Erin were not at the home when police found Callie’s body.

This is what prompted the Amber Alert this morning, according to Sheriff Daniel Edwards.

Police said the kids were abducted before 8:00 a.m. and an Amber Alert was issued at 12:28 p.m.

A white male was wanted for questioning in a domestic violence incident that happened at the time of the abduction, when the mother was found dead was the suspect in the Amber Alert.

Police said that it is unclear what the man’s relation to the children is.

Brunett’s car, a 2012 Black Chrysler 200, was missing from the scene, as well as her two young daughters.
