Two people are dead in an apparent murder-suicide in Warren County according to Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace.

At around 9:30 p.m., 911 received a call from out of county for a welfare check. They were concerned about a family member who was staying in the vacation rental property and indicated they may have a domestic issue going on. When deputies arrived at the Caravane Circle rental at Eagle Lake in Warren County, they were unable to gain entry. Warren County Sheriff’s Deputies were able to locate the owner of the trailer but were still unable to gain entry.

Suicidal threats

Warren County made contact with the original caller and received information that there may have been some suicidal threats made by one of the people believed to be in the rental.

“At that time we actually made forced entry into the trailer and found two adults that were deceased in the trailer from gunshot wounds,” said Sheriff Pace. “It appears we have an adult male and an adult female both suffering from gunshot wounds. At this time there’s all indications that this was a murder-suicide. The residence was deadbolt locked from the inside there was no one else on site.”

Not from Warren County

Pace went on to clarify that the individuals found in the trailer were not from the Vicksburg Warren County area and that another agency was attempting to make contact with family members.

This was, according to Sheriff Pace, a domestic that escalated and was isolated to those two individuals.

The names of the deceased are being withheld pending the notification of family members by the unnamed agency.

The Vicksburg Daily News will update this story as more information is released.
