Two charged with theft of Ocean Springs convenience store

On July 8, Ocean Springs Police Department received a report of a Commercial Burglary at Bao Wow’s Convenience Store located at 2400 Government Street.
An unknown suspect had entered the store through a window and left through the front door. A large number of cigarettes and vape devices were taken.
Ocean Springs Detective Alex Nandin received a tip later that evening that a male identified as Zachary Joseph Hunter was selling cigarettes door-to-door in the nearby neighborhood.
Nandin and other OSPD Detectives obtained a search warrant for Hunter’s home residence, where a large number of cigarettes and vape devices were recovered.
Both Hunter and McKayla Kisela were arrested at the residence and brought to the Ocean Springs Police Department for booking. Hunter and Kisela are currently in the Jackson County Adult Detention Center, with bonds set at $100,000.00 for Hunter and $50,000.00 for Kisela.
Hunter also is on Federal Probation for Commercial Burglary.
