Tupelo Man Charges Increased After He Conceals Cocaine In Back Of Patrol Car During Arrest

On November 1, a traffic stop initiated by the Tupelo Police Department led to the arrest of 49-year-old Derrick Dewayne Bady of Tupelo, for an active felony capias issued by the Lee County Circuit Court for narcotics violations.
After being transported to the Lee County jail for booking on the charges it was discovered that Bady concealed alleged cocaine powder and alleged crack cocaine in the rear seat area of the patrol vehicle during his transport.
Bady was held on the Capias and charged with felony possession of cocaine powder and felony possession of crack cocaine.
On November 3, Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Allen set Bady’s bond at $10,000 for the new charges. A hold was also placed on Bady by the Mississippi Department of Corrections due to his parolee status.
