Tupelo man charged when drugs found on him in jail intake

A Tupelo man was arrested earlier this week on multiple drug charges after being pulled over by law enforcement.

According to Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson, deputies assisted with a traffic stop in the Verona area. The driver, who appeared to be intoxicated, was identified as Victor Zuniga, 24.

Zuniga was arrested for driving under the influence, but when they got him into the intake area of the jail, Zuniga was found to have methamphetamine and cocaine.

Zuniga was charged with Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine, and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance- Cocaine.

A Lee County Justice Court Judge set his bond at $4,000 for each count.
