On January 29, at approximately 1:00 am Tupelo Police stopped a white Dodge Charger on West Jackson Street for a traffic offense.

The driver spoke with the officer briefly and then fled in the vehicle.

A police pursuit was initiated. The suspect continued to flee and the pursuit was terminated due to weather and officers having identifying information.

A preliminary investigation led officers to suspect 20-year-old Torrean Albert (Belden) of being the driver.

On January 30, Albert turned himself into the Tupelo Police Department and was charged with felony fleeing.

On January 31, Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Weir set his bond at $5,000. This case will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury.
