This white van is believed to have been used in an attempted kidnapping in Tunica County.

Tunica County officials say two men in a white van attempted to kidnap a child by stating that they had candy and puppies in the van.

Around 6:18 p.m. Wednesday, the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call regarding an attempted kidnapping at a residence in the Dundee area.

When deputies arrived on scene, they spoke with an individual who said that their minor
child was approached by a white, older model possible Chevrolet passenger van occupied
by a white male driver and a black male passenger. The occupants were reportedly wearing masks.

A vehicle description states the van had tinted windows and a black stripe or black stripes down the sides. Deputies were told that the occupants of the van attempted to lure the child into the vehicle by saying that they had candy and puppies inside the van.

The child immediately told adults what had happened. Authorities say the vehicle was last seen traveling north on Old Hwy 61 N around 4:30 p.m.

A grainy photo has been released in hopes it may jog someone’s memory.

This is an active and ongoing investigation. Anyone with information is urged to call the
Tunica County Sheriff’s Office at 662-363-1411. If you come into contact with the
vehicle, please immediately dial 911 and notify the authorities
