Tunica County man accused of shooting into a car arrested on multiple charges

On Friday, the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force, apprehended Prinnis Carter, 22, in Robinsonville.

Carter is being held at the Tunica County Jail.

On February 26 at approximately 8:36 p.m., the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call regarding shots fired in the area of X-Treme carwash, located at 1685 US Highway 61 S in Tunica, MS.

Sheriff Deputies and the Town of Tunica Police Officers were dispatched to the area. Upon arrival, deputies and officers made contact with a 2001, tan in color, Buick with multiple bullet holes. The occupant of the vehicle was located unharmed. The individual was able to tell authorities that subjects in a white Kia had shot at his vehicle. Additionally, a residence located near the scene, on Hospital Street, was struck by the gunfire.

Through deputies’ initial investigation, the following suspects were identified:

  • Prinderius Carter, 19, of Tunica
  • Prinnis Carter Jr., 22, of Tunica
  • Eric Oliver Jr., 18, of Tunica
  • Ceedrick Wheeler, 19, of Robinsonville

These four suspects are being charged with the following:

  1. Conspiracy
  2. Drive by Shooting
  3. Shooting into a Dwelling
  4. Attempted Murder
  5. Receiving Stolen Property
