Tuesday Weather: Chilly and Rainy, dangerous temps later this week

Mary Apel

The chance for rain will increase from west to east today, and a few thunderstorms may be possible around central Louisiana or far southern Mississippi. High temperatures will be below normal, ranging in the 40s across our forecast area.

Cloudy conditions will persist into the night with the majority of the area being mostly cloudy. Low temperatures should range in the upper 30s to lower 40s.

This week will also bring dangerously cold temperatures as the weather should drop close to 50 degrees on Thursday, according to some forecasts.

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency advises:

Dangerous, cold temperatures are expected this week for most of the state. Start prepping NOW. Wrap pipes and keep a preparedness kit in your car with extra blankets.
