Tuesday Weather: Alert day, strong winds and potential storms

Clouds will increase in the morning as a low pressure system approaches the area. By late afternoon strong gusty winds and locally heavy rainfall will be likely in the west. This activity will intensify through the evening and spread east across the area. High temperatures will range from near 50 degrees in the northwest to the mid 60s in the southeast.

Widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected tonight as a cold front moves across the area. These storms will end from west to east after midnight. Some of these storms will be severe, especially over the southeastern portions of the area. Lows will range from the upper 30s to mid 40s.
