RideABILITY Therapeutic Riding Center Hosts 3rd Annual “Barnyard Bash”
Central Mississippi’s only therapeutic horseback riding facility, RideABILITY Therapeutic Riding Center, will be hosting their 3rd Annual Barnyard Bash this weekend, October 22.
Tucked away in a peaceful corner of Brandon, RideABILITY Therapeutic Riding Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers therapeutic horseback riding lessons to the children and adults with special needs.
The Barnyard Bash is their annual fundraising event where RideABILITY opens their doors to the community and hosts a full day of live music, food trucks, silent auctions, interactions with the therapy horses, games, and more.

RideABILITY has been in operation for 11 years, and has since helped hundreds of people from the special needs community.
Olivia McGlade, a current student at RideABILITY, who was diagnosed with a rare muscle condition, said, “All the horses here, they help me out, and they’re basically all my best friends.”
Olivia’s mom, Robin McGlade, has seen her daughter’s strength and confidence build over the year that Olivia has been a student.
“Some of the other sports, [Olivia] can’t participate in due to her condition, but this gives her something that she can do. The horses are her legs,” said Robin.
Students at RideABILITY are paired with horses, and are given physical, mental, and emotional exercises on horseback in order to build new muscles and neural pathways.
Because the facility is a non-profit, they function completely off of donations and the help of volunteers.
“If we do not have donations, then our doors are not open,” said Andrea Ferguson, the Executive Director of RideABILITY.
“In terms of where we’re at right now; we’re at: ‘all things fundraising’,” said Andrea.
The event will be focused on raising donations for the facility.
Popular music artists such as Hannah Everhart, Chad Perry & the County Line Drivers, The Sal-Tines , H. H. And the YTs, Cheyenne Coulter will be performing, a food truck will provide food throughout the day, and a silent action with some pretty fascinating things will be available to the public.
The event is Saturday, October 22, 2022 and will start at 12:00 p.m. and end around 6:30 p.m., and ticket prices are $25.00per person, or $50 for a family.
Barnyard Bash will be held on the RideABILTY premises at 117 Rideability Ln., Brandon, MS.
And don’t forget your lawn chair or blanket!!
