Storms Knock Out Power To Over 44,000 People Across State

Over 44,000 people are without power right now after powerful storms surged through Mississippi.

Wind gusts knocked out power to 44,178 people by 11:00 a.m. according to www.poweroutage.us.

WLBT reports that wind gusts as strong as 57 miles per hour were recorded at the Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport.

The main wave of storms has passed through the state by now.
