A local shelter, Animal Rescue Fund, in Jackson, put out a plea on Facebook for large industrial fans for their shelter to help keep their dogs cool during this brutal heat.
The entire state is experiencing unbearably hot temperatures lately.
Shelter owner, Pippa Jackson, had been sick with a stomach virus and was not able to attend one of the shelter’s fundraisers at “The Good Bar” last Saturday.
Pippa said that a volunteer and foster stepped in to help at the fundraiser and noticed that the shelter barely received support to purchase the fans.
She contacted her friend Steve Grantham, who owns the Outback Steakhouse nearby, and he graciously stepped up and purchased a huge fan for the shelter.
Pippa said she was so grateful for this gesture.
The shelter houses nearly 300 dogs and could use 4 or 5 more fans like this to help the dogs feel more comfortable.
